Pigging Out

This week we art directed a range of tasty point of sale images for a restaurant chain that we’re rebranding. The York Roast Co. is the new name for York Hogroast, who currently have two takeaway roast meat sandwich shops in York.

We’ve been working a full rebrand and designing a new retail unit for the company in Chester, which will be their first restaurant to have seating. As well as the interior design, we’ve worked with our shop-fit partners, Bright Green Creative, managing every step of the build. We’ve also worked with friend, food-stylist and consultant chef, Spencer Finch, to develop the menu, which now has a more branded theme and an improved product offering.

The interior is now finished and the restaurant will be open to the public next Friday, when we’ll be able to announce full details and show pictures.

Crumbs!

Following a feature on BBC breakfast this morning about the boom of speciality biscuits, we realised that the new Thorntons ‘ Toffee & Milk Chocolate’ Cookies have hit the shelves, in the pack we designed and art directed.

Oh my God they’re good! Head down to your local Thorntons store or supermarket to give them a try.

EDZ Shoot

What a perfect weekend it was for shooting bikers and bikes in the Lake District for EDZ. Big thanks to Tony and Neil at Hein Gericke and their crew of riders for making it down on a day when they could have been tearing up the tarmac. Above is Simon – probably trying to explain how to get a knee down in the bends!

AT LAST… THORNTONS COOKIE PACKS!

Here are the finished production packs of Thorntons Cookies that we’ve been waiting for.

The cookies are the best we’ve tasted and we had to come up with a design that heroes the great product, while reflecting Thorntons brand values and heritage.

The photography led packaging gives the illusion of a traditional biscuit tin and shot with dimmed lighting creates an evening, luxurious feel. This premium indulgence is reflected in the pack copy and tone of voice and the use of vivid coloured stripes denote each flavour variation and adds a splash of Thorntons personality. There is a beautiful gloss varnish to the “tin” area of the design and a matt varnish to the descriptor label area.

We’re really pleased with the outcome and look forward to seeing them on shelf in Thorntons stores and most major supermarkets in the next few weeks!

AINSLEY UPDATE

Check out our redesign of Ainsley Harriott’s cereal bars. The white pack contrasts nicely with the black savoury range and thanks to Helen’s beautiful photography we’re sure sales will go through the roof!

NETTO MEALS HAVE NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD

We designed a range of frozen readymeals for Netto called ‘Authentic Cuisine’ and they have just appeared in store.

The design is simple, allowing the homely photography to sell the food. We separated each of the 14 meals into four categories of British, Indian, Chinese and Italian. Each is clearly coded by a branded, coloured square and propped accordingly.

If you want to buy five meals for £4 get yourself down to Netto!
