New Stoats Sports

We’ve been working with Porridge bars manufacturer Stoats to develop the branding and packaging for its new Stoats Sport range.

The products are specifically formulated for a pre exercise boost and post workout recovery. Our design is clean and demonstrates sports performance, while suggesting that the product is more of a natural, healthy option than a lot of similar products. We’ve also developed advertising and point of sale merchandising material for the launch this month.

We’re now working on a refresh of all Stoats porridge bar packaging, so check back soon to find out more!

Even More Style At Ella Georgia

Here’s our rebrand of Ella Georgia – A retail website and shop, selling ethical jewellery, homeware, clothing and bath and body products.

We developed the strap-line ‘Style with heart’, and added personality with a hand drawn font and an ownable, bohemian pattern, illustrated in-house.

The new look suits the proposition perfectly and we’re now working with Ella Georgia to develop luxury packaging, branded materials and wrapping paper.

The York Roast Co. Now Open For Business

Yesterday saw the opening of the first newly branded restaurant for The York Roast Co. in Chester. The primarily take away style business, which also trades from two sites in York was previously ‘York Hogroast’ and the Chester site is the first to incorporate a seating area.

We’ve designed the new Chester shop, as a template for the brand and the concept will be fine tuned across the two York restaurants, before rolling out in many other towns.

The York Roast Co. serves the finest hand carved meat sandwiches, drawing people in from the street with the mouth-watering theatre of the carvery display in the window.

As well as designing the new branding and interior, we managed the build and designed the finishing touches, such as POS, uniforms and packaging. We also developed the menu product offering with a food stylist and chef from our close network. Together we created the new ‘Beastly’ sandwich specials and introduced new items such as filled Yorkshire puddings and marinated pork ribs. We also complimented the offering, suggesting freshly ground coffee by Taylors of Harrogate and traditional drinks by Fentimans.

The identity is a blend of traditional and contemporary, mixing a butcher shop feel with the fast paced appeal of a New York deli. The takeaway counter is black granite, faced in reclaimed scaffold boards, with a backdrop of white subway tiling and black grout. The reclaimed scaffold boards reappear in the seating area as tabletops sat on bespoke, raw steel frames, with industrial red pendant lamps hanging above. The floor of the restaurant is tiled in a black and white check, which is mimicked in the check chef’s trousers worn by the staff. The colour palette mixes heritage black, with gold and white, for an old York feel in a contemporary setting and the logo illustration was created by Jono Wood from the Robot Food Artist Network.

The York Roast Co. Director Wayne Chadwick said, “We’re absolutely delighted with the feel of the place. Robot Food have transformed our business, considering every detail to create a brand to rival the best independent restaurant chains.”

JP Bar Opens For Business

JP bar opened its doors on Otley road in Headingley, Leeds today and is a new take away restaurant offering the finest, great value jacket potatoes and sandwiches. With a selection of house favorites, a choice of breads and twice baked potatoes, the menu has something to offer everyone. The produce is fresh, with a choice of additional toppings and daily made sauces to make taste buds tingle.

We created the identity, together with menus, signage, point of sale material, packaging, uniforms and advertising. The look is fresh and bold in a three-colour palette consisting of vibrant green, old white and dark grey. The design is heavy on typography and punchy communication aimed heavily at the young professional and student population that the shop should attract in its first Headingly location. Examples of this include coffee cups that say “So hot right now!” and a variety of uniform T-shirt prints such as “Super Fresh – Boom!” Key communication is combined with appetising food photography, that we art directed.

“It’s only day one, but the business has big plans for expansion and the forward thinking design that Robot-food have given us really arms us for success”, said Manager Atif Dar.

Following the launch, we are now working on the corporate website.

Beaming With Flavour

We were recently appointed to redesign the branding and packaging for Beanies flavour coffee.

Beanies is a unique product, due to the fact that the flavour is actually locked in with the coffee. Available across seven flavours in ground filter and instant form, the makers are convinced that this convenient, zero calorie, medium roast coffee will become a huge hit with more adventurous coffee drinkers of all ages. The rebrand is to coincide with a relaunch of Beanies, ahead of its appearance in major national retailers. The company is also launching a variety of flavour coffee instant stick packs targeting trade and hospitality.

We have created more brand impact, by simplifying the previous logo, while retaining the personality and movement of the font. The packaging has a raw textured card finish in a natural dark brown, to show that the brand is serious about its coffee, with the branding and key product descriptor applied in a white foil finish for stand out. The bean that was incorporated in the previous design has been rounded to become more iconic and we used as a die-cut window on the filter packs to expose the flavour variant colour of the internal box beneath. The whole finish and experience has become more tactile and premium, while clearly indicating that although serious about its product, the brand is full of fun.

We also introduced the strapline, “The Flavour Co.” to position the brand as a master within flavour produce and open the opportunity of future product categories and some exciting NPD ideas.

We’re now working with the brand on its corporate website and advertising strategy and we’re excited about what the future holds for this young brand.

Sous Chef Identity

Here is the logo we’ve created as part of the identity for ‘Sous Chef’ – a new web based company to supply the chef at home. Sous Chef will sell rare ingredients, quality equipment and books to allow any aspiring top chef to cook like the best at home.

We’ve also worked on packaging labels and corporate stationery.

Beanies Rebrand

Here’s the new identity we’ve developed for Beanies. The logo is based on the original font, but we’ve spaced and resized the lettering to be more legible. It’s still fun and by removing the keylines, appears more adult and contemporary. It will be applied to the new pack designs in a bold white gloss foil, so check back soon to see. We’ve also heroes the coffee bean icon above the ‘i’ and added ‘The Flavour Co.’ as a strapline, to leave no doubt what Beanies is famous for.

Good Food Café

Here’s the identity that we’ve created for Filmore & Union; a new independent café and deli chain to soon open in York, Leeds and Harrogate.

Filmore & Union was forged and inspired by a love for great food, appreciation of State side customer service and most importantly, the health and nutritional benefits of an everyday meal. It has led the founders to combine the various skills acquired whilst working within the health and catering industry to create a new choice and style of dining.

It is to provide a direct, informal and almost educational service to customers to help them build a better relationship with food whilst still offering all the other great parts and aspects of what makes eating out so enjoyable.

Feeling good is very reactive. Eat well, be well.

Fuel Your Ambition

We recently redesigned the full rage of suppliment pouches for MyProtein, who are the largest direct supplier of training supplements in the UK. While working on the project we added value by suggesting the strap-line “Fuel Your Ambition”, which they immediately registered and are now using.

The new packs of their products; Core, MP Max, Max Elle and Max Elite will soon be available to order from the website at: www.myprotein.com

Branding In The U S Of A

We recently completed the branding and website design for a new online business based in in Southern Oregon, USA.

Fermented Nation is an exciting new retail platform for artisan food producers across America, who may not have the budget or experience to market their products online. The owners have a real passion for great produce and will personally visit potential new partners before listing their products on the site. There are some really nice touches to the site, such as being able to shop by region and it offers discounts for minimal food miles traveled, to prompt everyone to buy the best produce locally.

The site will be soon be going live at: www.fermentednation.com
