Crafting Success

We put the Heart & Soul into craft, and took Vocation Brewery from start-up starting blocks to supermarket superstar in just 2 and a half years — helping secure national listings in Tesco, Asda, Co-op, M&S and Booths along the way.

Our client says…

“Excellent craft beer alone is not enough to be successful. You need an impactful brand too. Customers love the results, and sales have exploded. I call Robot Food our fifth Beatle. Their work just goes to show what can happen when a great product is given a powerful brand.”

John Hickling — Founder and Head Brewer, Vocation Brewery

Vocation crafts uncompromisingly good beer. So we gave them an uncompromisingly good name and brand identity. Each bold beer name takes centre-stage on each label.

This bold naming works alongside intricate illustrations, all done in-house, to express the tasting notes, craft and passion that goes into each lip-smacking ale.

Flavour-filled partnerships with Chorlton Brewery, Atom Beers and Yeastie Boys called for mouth-watering new designs. The ampersand of the original identity was chosen as a consistent representation of collaboration across each of the three cans, transforming to reflect the flavour and attitude of the beer inside.

When Vocation moved into lager, we took a similarly rebellious and irreverent approach. Choosing clean white background to captures the lager’s fresh flavours, and adding bright neon flashes of spray can paint to encapsulate the lager’s distinctive vibrant character.

On ales the Vocation brand mark takes a backseat — allowing the intricacies of the individual ales to shine — but on lagers it takes centre-stage. Acting as a proud statement of intent for Vocation’s ambitions in the category.
