What we’re looking for:
A seasoned copywriter with an envy-inducing portfolio. Someone that can demonstrate a wealth of experience across creative campaigns, brand voice, and make us think ‘wish I’d wrote that’.
A fresh pair of eyes. Someone with the vision (and the commercial chops) to look at our current copy offer and spot the opportunities to push it. New skills, fresh ideas and bags of enthusiasm – that’s you!
You’re an ideas-driven individual with strategic flair. You know the ins and outs of what makes a compelling campaign. An expert translator of strategy and insight.
You know the rules and how to break them. A conceptual thinker that can take ‘what works’ and challenge it to make it better.
Gumption, initiative, whatever you want to call it – just as long as you’ve got it. We want someone with the knowledge and ideas to challenge how we do words.
You’re a natural leader. Instinctive, opinion-led and a relationship builder. You inspire and encourage colleagues and clients, building strong bonds through knowledge and trust.
A love of language and a passion for your craft. You’ve got your finger on the pulse and an insatiable appetite for what’s going on in our industry and the wider world.
This is an opportunity to put your stamp on our words. As much as we need someone to write for the brands we work with, we need someone that can change our own narrative. This is a senior position that will help set the direction for copy’s role in Robot Food.
You’ll be responsible for:
— Leading the thinking and direction of the agency’s copywriting output for both our clients and Robot Food as an agency.
— Implementing new processes, delivering new services and providing new thinking to raise our copywriting profile with our clients.
— Representing and championing our copy offering, integrating it into each stage of our creative output.
— Working with the senior leadership team to drive our long-term agency objectives.
— Line management of our existing copywriter. Providing day to day support, direction and inspiration. And responsible for their long-term personal development.
—Working with the strategy team to translate and articulate big ideas into stand out copy that grabs consumers.
— Working with the marketing manager to support and develop our own Robot Food content or external marketing.
— Leads discussions on copy with clients.
— Working collaboratively across multiple teams (Creative, Strategy and Account Handling) to drive the profile and role of copy within the agency.
— Ensures all copy aligns strategically with briefs and the established brand positioning documents. Signs off on all copy output.
Our office is based in the centre of Leeds and like most businesses we are currently offering hybrid working with a current requirement of 2 days/week in the office.
Essentials for the role:
This is a full-time position based in Leeds. You will have a minimum of 6 years experience and already be in a senior copywriting position. Must be willing to travel when necessary.
What’s in it for you:
£38-45k dependent on experience.
Holiday allowance of 36 days (including statutory Bank Holidays).
Performance related bonus.
