Merry Christmas from the Robots
Cue John Lennon: “So this is Christmas, and what have you done?”
New. That was our running theme of 2023.
New clients, new challenges, new additions. Plus, a shiny new Robot Food HQ to call our own.
And naturally, as we fast approach the end of year, all this newness has got us feeling reflective. So as with any classic Christmas album, here are our greatest hits…
A step in a different direction
A new sector with a whole host of new challenges. This year we landed the incredible opportunity to partner with StepChange, the UK based charity committed to creating a society free from problem debt.
With taboos to tackle, strict regulations to follow and different audiences to speak to, StepChange was a complete pivot away from our usual process. And one of our most complex, thought-provoking and rewarding projects to date.
If you haven’t already, you can check out our work here.
Pass the sangria
In October we jetted off to Palma for our annual team trip, where we were treated to two joyous days of sun, sea and sangria. A far cry from the sub-zero temperatures we’ve been battling over the last couple of weeks.
We had an absolute blast bonding as a team and seeing the sights (some more cultured than others). Time to start planning for next year…
We’re gonna need a bigger boat
In May we moved into our new studio at Globe Point – a key part of our plans to expand our client roster and grow our talented team.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Clayton, Hatty, Sam, Tom and El to the fold. As well as Matt, our Head of North American partnerships, based across the pond in New York.
And not forgetting, Steph and Marc both welcomed their own new arrivals to the world – Max and Frank. They’ve not quite got to grips with Adobe yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
Work in the wild
The best bit about the job is seeing our work in the wild.
This year we’ve rewritten history, smashed stigmas, tickled tastebuds, crafted confidence and reinstated some serious swagger. What have you spotted?
Get ready for more in 24
Next year marks our 15th year in business – and we’ve got lots to look forward to. We’ve been busy behind the scenes getting our beauty on for a number of sun, skin and personal care brands – including a packaging refresh for our very own Stories & Ink. We can’t wait to share more very soon, so watch this space.
Spreading some festive cheer
This year we’re supporting the Leeds Hospitals Charity Children's Christmas Wishlist by buying 50 Christmas presents for poorly children who are spending their Christmas Day in Leeds Children's Hospital.
We'd like to thank our landlords CEG and Helen McDonald from the Leeds Hospitals Charity for organising the drop off.
If you'd like to join us in buying a gift for a child in hospital you can find out more about the appeal by following this link and choose something from the Wish List – but get busy because the closing date for a guaranteed Christmas delivery is today.
And that’s a wrap!
From everyone here at Robot Food, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. See you in January.
